Dave and RIO at Coupland Dancehall for New Years

Dave, and the Band RIO, will be ringing in the New Year at the Coupland Dancehall on December 31, 2003 with plenty of their great Country Music.  Doors open at 7:00 and the Band takes the stage at 8:30.

RIO consists of Byron Neathery on Bass, Rachael Dreas on Fiddle, Steve DeLeon playing Guitar, and Jackie Davis playing Drums and cracking jokes.  Dave plays Acoustic guitar, and one of their regulars may be joining them on Steel Guitar.

Admission is $25 per couple, and that includes private club membership, party favors, champagne at Midnight, and an evening of dancing to the finest music in Central Texas.  There will also be a wonderful full breakfast available after the show for just $5.00.

Coupland Dancehall is located in Coupland Texas, just off Highway 95 between Elgin and Taylor.  The Dance hall, one of the original Texas Dance halls, is in a building that was built in 1910.  The bars in the Dance hall are over 100 years old and have heard music by most of the Texas greats.

Many movies have been filmed at the Coupland Dancehall including: Lonesome Dove, A Perfect World, Cadillac Ranch, Varsity Blues, Home Fries, and Flesh and Bone.  TV shoots there include Stevie Ray Vaughn's Change It music video, MacGyver, a commercial for Ford Motor Company, a Miller Lite commercial with Randy White, Earl Campbell, and Donnie Gay, and a David Ball CMT video.   It is a perfect place to welcome in the New Year.

Dave Joins other Great Texas Musicians in Benefit for Judy Meredith

Judy Meredith, the Wife of Dodd Meredith, a well known Texas Musician (Floyd Tillman, Hank Thompson, Roy Head Show Band, Johnny & Edgar Winter, Gene Watson, Darrell McCall and on and on), was involved in a very serious head-on car accident over a month ago. She is still in ICU at Brackenridge Hospital and is doing somewhat okay but there's a lot of broken bones along with other injuries. Please note, this was not her fault, the other driver crossed the center line & it was a head-on collision.  She teaches 7th and 8th grade history at Forbes Middle School in Georgetown Texas and has been out of work for quite some time now.

The Cotton Club, Dave, and a number of other Texas Musicians have put together a benefit to help out Judy, Dodd, and their family on October 26, 3:00 PM til 9:00 PM.  You can read all of the details by clicking on this Judy Meredith Bulletin link.

This is an opportunity to see performances by some of Texas' best Musicians, and help out a worthy cause at the same time.

Dave to Appear With Radney Foster

Country Music recording artist Radney Foster (Nobody Wins, Just Call Me Lonesome) will be appearing at the Texas Hall of Fame Dance hall in Bryan Texas on Friday October 17 with Dave and the Band.  Radney has been one of Country Music's groundbreaking singer/songwriters, writing or co-writing many country classics.  Here is an opportunity to see Radney and Dave the same night.  Dave and the Band will be on stage from 9:00 til 10:15.  Radney will take the stage at 11:00.  Tickets are $8.00 at the door.  Don't miss this one.
